About Us
Phoenix Environmental Research is an environmental R&D company focused on development of new site remediation approaches for coal-fired power stations and other types of industrial locations, as well as beneficial reuses of Coal Combustion Residuals (CCRs), commonly known as coal ash.
Mr. Ron Froh, Chairman
Over the past 18 years Mr. Froh has worked on environmental remediation projects in former power plants, refineries, chemical and manufacturing sites in over 30 states and five provinces of Canada. Ron is an expert in a variety of environmental remediation methods and techniques. In addition to his deep technical expertise, he has been involved in over 1 billion in liability transactions involving transfers of real estate, ranging from brownfield deals to large property portfolios. Ron works closely with communities, regional economic authorities and state officials to create reuse plans that help create jobs and new tax base. With the integration of environmental cleanup and repositioning of property utilities and grading plans, he has successfully redeveloped dozens of sites.
Ron holds a BS Degree in Geology 1981 from Michigan Technological University – Houghton, Michigan
Dr. Eric Calderon-Ortiz, Scientist
Dr. Calderon-Ortiz is an experienced research professional with extensive history working in the biotechnology industry. Eric brings valuable scientific expertise to our team. Prior to Phoenix Environmental Research, Eric held variety of positions with Amgen, a large multinational biopharmaceutical company and one of the world’s largest independent biotechnology companies. His prior professional experiences also included a technical advisory role for Global Patent Group, a prominent intellectual property law firm.
Eric holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Chemistry, as well as PhD in Biochemistry, from the University of Puerto Rico.
Dr. Alex Krichevsky, Director of R&D
Dr. Krichevsky is a biotechnology and business professional with extensive background in variety of R&D projects. His work has been featured in numerous mainstream media outlets in the United States including Bloomberg Businessweek, NBC News, Discover magazine, the Huffington Post and Slate magazine, as well as in Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and China. For close to twenty years Alex held variety of positions in academia and biotechnology industry, ranging from a professorship position at a state university to director of research at a biotechnology company. Alex published numerous articles in high-impact scientific journals and authored a number of patents.
Alex holds PhD in Biochemistry and an MBA from the Hebrew University in Israel.
